Where have I been and what have I been doing in 2025 - Travel wise!

My 2025 Travel Year: A Year of Adventure

2025 has been one for the books! It’s been a year packed with unforgettable trips, from quick city getaways to island hopping and some much-needed solo time. If you’ve ever wondered where I’ve been or what I’ve been up to, here’s the lowdown on my 2025 travel adventures.

January:

Milan & Madrid – Extreme Day Trips

I kicked off the year with two quick trips to Milan and Madrid. Both were extreme day trips, meaning I packed in as much as I could into just one day! Milan was amazing all about stunning architecture, while Madrid had a lively vibe with delicious food and great art. Definitely a fun start to 2025!

February:

Belfast, Cork & Lanzarote

In February, I managed to squeeze in three trips. First, I took day trips to Belfast and Cork—two cities full of history and charm. Then, I treated myself to five days in Lanzarote. It was my first solo trip of the year, and it was just what I needed. Sun, volcanic landscapes, and time to unwind—perfect for some peace and quiet.

March:

Athens – A 6-Day Historic Escape

March took me to Athens for six days. The city was a perfect mix of ancient history and modern vibes. I wandered around the Acropolis, explored charming streets in Plaka, and of course, ate Greek food. It was one of the highlights of my year so far! Will tell you more about this in my next blog!

April:

Hoddom Castle, Scotland – Easter Weekend Getaway

In April, we switched things up and spent Easter weekend at Hoddom Castle in Scotland. It was a bit of a break—staying in the campervan urrounded by nature. The perfect mix of relaxation and history, and a great way to spend the holiday. We also spent time with my husbands family.

May:

Kettlewell, Yorkshire – Campervan Weekend

In May, we took the campervan to Kettlewell in the Yorkshire Dales. No tents here! We parked up in a cozy spot and spent the weekend exploring the hills, villages, and beautiful countryside. It was a peaceful, relaxing escape—just what I needed to recharge.

June:

Shell Island,

Wales – Campervan by the Sea

In June, we took the campervan to Shell Island in Wales. It’s an amazing spot with vast beaches and stunning coastal views. We spent a few days just soaking in the scenery, walking along the beach, and enjoying the fresh air. It was the perfect getaway by the sea and our dog Millie loved it.

July:

Scottish Borders – A Weekend Break

July was all about a quick weekend getaway to the Scottish Borders. The rolling hills, historic castles, and cute little towns made it the perfect place for a relaxing weekend. A lot of walking, a bit of history, and just unwinding in nature—what’s not to love? I also bought myself a pair of Dubarry boots!

August:

Island Hopping in Scotland – 4 Weeks of Adventure

August was the big one: four weeks of island hopping in Scotland! I visited some of the most beautiful and remote islands: Colonsay, Coll, Tiree, Barra, and ended in the East Neuk of Fife. Every island had its own charm—amazing beaches, quaint villages, and some serious peace and quiet. Definitely one of the most unforgettable parts of my year.

October:

Bergamo & Lake Como – A Taste of Italy

In October, I escaped to Italy for four days, visiting Bergamo and Lake Como. Bergamo had this incredible medieval vibe, with cobblestone streets and stunning views. Then, Lake Como was just as dreamy as you’d imagine—picturesque towns, beautiful lakeside views, and plenty of delicious food. A perfect autumn getaway.

November:

Wales & Cumbria – Two Weekend Getaways

I wrapped up the year with two separate weekend trips: one to Wales and one to Cumbria. Both were full of scenic beauty, peaceful hikes, and cozy places to stay. It was a nice way to slow down after all the big adventures and spend some quiet time in nature.

I attended a 1-2-1 tutorial day learning how to make notebooks and foiling - more to come on that!

A Year Full of Travel and Memories

Looking back, 2025 has been an amazing year of travel. From city adventures to peaceful weekends in the countryside and those incredible weeks island hopping in Scotland, each trip brought something special. Whether it was soaking in the history of Athens or just enjoying a quiet day on a beach in Wales, I’ve gathered so many memories this year.

Travel is about more than just the places you visit—it’s the experiences, the people you meet, and the moments of peace and joy along the way. Can’t wait to see where next year takes me! And we still have one week away to end the year but will keep that for the January blog!
